Rob's Tips For Internet Marketing - Part 2, What the Heck is a Squidoo?

You may have heard your upline talking about this mystical creature known as 'Squidoo'...or if you've done a Google search lately, you may have noticed that some of the first-page entries were Squidoo sites (hint: this should tell you something right away!)

Today, I am going to teach you how this odd and wondrous Web 2.0 tool can make you very wealthy...or at least get your website onto the first page of search engines (which is often a symptom that indicates you are ABOUT to become wealthy!)

Squidoo is a Web 2.0 marketing method that I teach that revolves around creating websites, or 'Lenses', targeted to individual KEYWORDS that people will search for on the internet. For a case study, let us look at a Squidoo Lens that I created to answer the many questions out there about the My Internet Business Product line. My primary keyword will be 'MyInternetBusiness Products'. Scroll down and click on the Squidoo link in the resource box below and open it in a SEPARATE BROWSER, so that you can go back and forth between this article and see what I am talking about on the Squidoo Lens itself.

You will notice that I included the keyword in the actual URL itself. This is important for dominating that keyword niche; the search engines will pick up on it quickly and the spiders will see that it is relevant to the keyword. Not only that, but web surfers who are searching for the keyword will see it in BOLD, just like you do above. Likewise, the TITLE of the lens contains the keyword as well. This is great both for search engine optimization AND for reader-friendly content; the reader who searches for this opens the page and sees the subject of his search right away, which does wonders to encourage the idea that this page is valuable to the reader and will answer his/her question.

Next, the introduction. Search engine spiders and readers alike search left-to-right and top-down, so make sure that your introduction contains brief, relevant content that is rich with your keywords. This is where you, "Tell em what you're gonna tell 'em". It's also a good chance to BRAND YOURSELF, like I have where I identified myself as a personal business mentor.

Next is your CONTENT...here is the meat-and-potatoes of your Squidoo lens. In SEO and internet marketing in general, Content is King. I have gone to great detail in this lens to include details, photos, links to video-demonstrations and more to answer any and every question the viewer may have about my keywords, the MyInternetBusiness Products.

How do you get those pictures in there? And how about the formatting?Here is where a basic knowledge of html comes in handy, and if you are serious about internet marketing, I suggest you learn at least the code necessary to include links and images.

To get the pictures onto my Squidoo lens, I uploaded all 16 to Photobucket.com, a free picture hosting service. I highly recommend you create an account for yourself and use it copiously in your internet marketing activities. Then, whenever I wanted to include a picture, I simply typed this code and pasted the URL for the picture: img src="your picture's url"

So how about the pictures that are clickable links? Type this code: "a href="your website url" img src="your picture's url" /a Enclose all tags in symbols to designate the html code.

It goes without saying that you should substitute your actual picture and website information for what I typed in. But other than that, use that code EXACTLY. So how do you know if you did it correctly? Click SAVE on your Squidoo text module, and the picture and link should appear!

All right, so you have finished your main content for the lens...now what? Squidoo and the search engines both will rank your lens higher if you add additional unique content, so go to Add Modules. I usually include a YouTube video, guestbook, Amazon bookstore, link list, and an RSS feed.

RSS is important because you can set your Squidoo lens to display fresh content that is updated HOURLY. Search engines LOOOVE websites that are updated frequently, and if you have an RSS feed built in to your lens, that the search engines will see your content being updated hourly! This will make your rankings soar!

To get your RSS feed, go to www . rssfeedgenerator . com and type in your KEYWORD. Take the code and paste it into the RSS feed module on your Squidoo Lens, save it, and watch fresh new content appear before your eyes!

Well, there you have it. Create a SEPARATE Squidoo lens for each keyword that you would like to target, add 4-5 content modules to make it unique, and watch your Lenses start to dominate your keyword niches on the front page of Google! Plus, Earthlink gives you tons of free hints, resources, tutorials and advice on how to promote your business online.

2. Microsoft Outlook. I can't fathom how anyone would manage their company email without this program. It's super-fast, offers plenty of storage space and can handle large graphic files. Open multiple email windows and copy the contents of one into the other! Sort your emails by field and deposit them into separate folders that you create and label for optimum organization. View the contents of each email without having to open each one. Block unwanted emails from entering your Inbox, or set your auto-reply for when you're away. Managing your contact addresses is a snap - and so is creating group lists for easy bulk-mailing! Can you tell I'm enamored with this program? If you bought your computer in the last five years, Outlook probably came with your Windows package... so if you haven't clicked on the program yet, do it NOW!

4. EzineArticles.com. Want to establish your credibility on the internet and advertise your website in the process? Ezinearticles.com offers a free article posting forum where you can showcase your skills and ideas. Write the articles yourself, or pay a writer to write them for you. Either way, you get the chance to present your professional know-how as well as read articles written by other web experts. It's a great way to swap information, promote your site, and make a name for yourself!

5. Angel Writer. For those who just bought Windows XP and discovered they have to now pay a couple of extra hundred bucks just to get a basic Word Processing program, here's some good news. You don't have to pay a dime for word processing software. Angel Writer has just about all the features that Word does, except for spellcheck and the word counter (you can easily find those on the internet if you do a little research). Save your work in the .doc, .txt and .rvf formats so that others can receive your work on email and download it into Word with no problem. Angel Writer is quick to download and simple to use. 7. Picturequest.com. Think you don't have the money to feature snazzy photos in your web materials? Think again! There's a fantastic image library right at your fingertips! Now, this doesn't sound very difficult does it? Well, it really is this simple. All the expensive Internet Marketing e-books, courses and seminars mostly provide information concerning one or more topics surrounding the above components in some form or another.

10 Key Ingredients Successful People Have In Common:

1. Associate with those who believe in you and your ideas.

2. Find the right mentor(s).

3. Associate with those who know more than you in your field of interest.

4. Stay consistent and persistent until your goals are achieved.

5. Refrain from over-indulging in mind altering chemicals.

6. Find a daily exercise you enjoy doing.

7. Take care of your health by eating right and take daily nutrients.

8. Laugh every day. Count at least 5 daily blessings at the end of each day.

First of all that's a BIG lie! Good news - it's not as tough as you might think.

I have no way of knowing your level of Internet Marketing experience. So, I try not to use advanced marketing terms. I try to keep it simple. Internet Marketing is a completely different "flavor" than real world marketing.

When "Joe" establishes his hardware store in the strip mall near your house, then he usually utilizes a different set of marketing and advertising principles. An online business succeeds by utilizing Internet Marketing tactics and strategies. With that said; Some online businesses can still use real world marketing in order to attract prospects and some real world businesses are also utilizing the internet to attract local prospects.

"Joe" can also utilize Internet Marketing to promote his neighborhood hardware store if he knew a few of the secrets.

There are many aspects of Internet Marketing. There are a variety of methods that can be utilized to help direct prospects to a website. You will not become proficient at using any of them overnight. Don't let anyone fool you.

Let's say it takes 10 "focused" hours to get proficient at any one method. If there are 12 methods, then it may require 120 focused hours of practice. Most Internet Marketing is usually done every day or at least a few times per week. Either you must perform most of the traffic methods yourself or hire it done once you can afford it. It sounds harder than what it is... don't worry about it. It will all become crystal clear very soon.

Good News: In my opinion, you may not get rich over- night, but the INTERNET is still the best way to earn profits and the best way to become financially independent. They are very careful about scheduling product launches as NOT to step on each other's toes. Then in between their product launches they promote other company products for big commissions.

It's beneficial because they can promote their product plus promote each other's product using their own list; thus suck even more money from the flock. Make sense? They systematically suck as much cash from the FLOCK as humanly possible and on a consistent basis. Are you mad yet?

All of these marketing campaigns are not random events - it's all carefully planned and choreographed as much as possible.

If you've not been living in a cave, then you've obviously noticed what the "Gurus" and their followers are calling such events; PRODUCT LAUNCHES, right? This method the Gurus (Hogs) use is really not a new trick - it's been around for years in other aspects of business.

This is how it works. An alliance of several "Gurus" are formed - all with massive lists. These massive lists will hold millions of serious buyers of Internet Marketing products. In certain circles this would be called an industry MONOPOLY - and it could be deemed as unfair, unethical and possibly illegal.

Ever wonder why most of the large launch products (courses) are priced the same? Usually about $1,997. Could this be price fixing? hmmmm... let's not think evil thoughts here. (smile) Magical, huh? Coincidental?

Again, there is nothing wrong with earning profits, but when is enough - enough? The flock becomes nothing but useful paying idiots to the Gurus. Sure, the Gurus say they appreciate their "sheep-like" customers - but do they really? I mean does "he" really care if you build a multi-million dollar business like his? hmmmm... I think not.

I don't have the power to stop the gravy train for the HOGS - and I wouldn't want to, but I can at least warn people before they fall prey to their traps. Most of these HOGS quickly gouge unsuspecting prospects because they do not know how long the people (sheep) will buy into their Bull Crap.

So, their concept is; Strike fast and strike often - Strike while the iron is HOT!! Have you noticed all the product launches within one particular Guru "buddy" club? Every 3rd or 4th week another Guru or some HOG launches a new product?

Let me ask you a question. Have any of these fancy rich slobbering HOGS made YOU wealthy yet? I hope so, but I doubt it!

I don't mean to keep rubbing this in your face because I know you're probably very upset not earning all the big money you've been promised. You have a right to be mad.
